The transport and logistics industry is the backbone of Kenya’s economy—but women remain vastly underrepresented. At Ponty Pridd Holdings, our She Delivers initiative is on a mission to close the gender gap by providing young women with the skills, mentorship, and community they need to thrive. In this post, we’ll explore:

The Challenge: Gender Gap in Kenya’s Transport & Logistics
Despite accounting for nearly half of Kenya’s workforce, women hold fewer than 20% of logistics and transport roles. Barriers include:
- Limited access to technical and vocational training
- Stereotypes about “men’s work” in driving, mechanics, and fleet management
- Lack of mentorship and professional networks
Without targeted interventions, these gaps will persist—limiting both economic growth and women’s empowerment.
Introducing She Delivers: A Full‑Stack Transformation
Launched under our Sustainability pillar, the She Delivers hub is more than a training program. It’s a holistic ecosystem designed to:
- Identify women
- Train them across multiple logistics disciplines
- Mentor them through real‑world placements
- Support them with community networking and life‑skills
By the end of each six‑month cohort, participants are fully equipped to step into—and excel in—transport and logistics roles.
